UFC 137 was meant to be Nick Diaz’s return to the UFC after leaving the promotion in 2006. During that span Diaz went an impressive 12-1 fighting in some of the world’s top fighting organizations. St. Pierre most recently defended his title at UFC 129 in a five-round bout with Diaz’s Team Gracie teammate Jake Shields.

He explained: “Dad and Grant were still waiting for their licences to come through, but they completed their course with Ricky Hatton last week and now have their laminates.
